Always Mañana

Today was the saddest of days; as today we said goodbye to our very dear friend Steve. After several years battling a lung disease he lost the fight. It was most cruel and so very sad.

Many of our best memories involve his larger than life character. He seemed to be a catalyst inspiring many a good time. He will be forever remembered in our hearts with great affection for all the fun we shared.

Julie nor I had much appetite for this holiday to Seville but it would been foolish to have cancelled. So the vacation began straight after the funeral. As we drove down to Gatwick Julie and I laughed and cried as we reminisced over our favourite Steve inspired moments.

Our early morning flight meant we needed to be staying close by to the airport tonight and we couldn't get any nearer than the Hilton connected to the South terminal.

With the bonus of Gatwick's twilight check-in, we off loaded our luggage at the Easyjet desk this evening without any queuing. It was now almost 10 o'clock and we were starving. Despite finding a Wetherspoons bar they had stopped serving food, so we just drank instead. Not always a clever thing to do!

We eventually got something to eat from Mr. Marks & Spencers store which we took back to our free-upgraded deluxe room. A nice bonus.
