Back Where It All Began
Friday 11th July 2025

Our flight home wasn't until later this evening, even if it was from Malaga we didn't need to leave Granada too early. Check-out wasn't until 12pm so we made the most of it and stayed in bed.

Brunch on the balcony was finishing off all the food and snacks we had bought from El Corte Ingles. When it was time, we called an Uber taxi to the train station.

Along the way we passed this strange structure. A boat shaped viewing platform on top of fire escape tower. Apparently it was part of Science Park and Museum.

We arrived at the train station earlier than expected so we sat at the cafe and waited.

We were disappointed that the carriage wasn't as old school as the one we had arriving but it mattered not. It did exactly what it needed to do and within less than an hour and a half we were back at the bar called Juandi, in Malaga, where it all began.

I enjoyed my revueltos so much last time I ordered another one, this time it was the mushroom not asparagus version. It was just as nice.

Despite really enjoying the swordfish on Monday Julie ordered a chicken fillet. She enjoyed it but I heard no purring.

We could have stayed there all afternoon but unfortunately we had to force ourselves to move on, catching the C1 metro from the train station to the airport. Buying a ticket proved problematic as it seemed to be only working for people topping up existing metro cards. I swapped queues and the other machine was much nicer to me.

Our flight wasn't until 7pm, so we arrived in plenty of time, especially as we were not checking in any luggage. We  got through the security checks and found a cafe where Julie lubricated her wings for the flight home.

She was a bag of nerves, and having this bloke called Steve latching onto us didn't help. He was on our flight. "I've already missed my flight home twice" he said as if it was something to be proud of.

A slight delay added to Julie's anxiety. When we arrived at the gate we were sat with the pilots and cabin crew waiting for our plane. This was unprecedented and further added to her uneasiness.

Eventually we boarded, safely flew back to Manchester and checked into the Tribe hotel, where it literally began.
