| If we're going to do it, we're going to do it properly. It's going to have to be a tour of every country in Europe including all those little principalities like Luxembourg or Liechenstein, through all the newly independent Balkan states like Kosovo and onwards to the outer reaches of the continent which according to most includes Georgia and Azerbaijan. That'll be quite a challenge. |
| June 2009 | Working on a dream |
| Sunday mornings are now put to one side for working on the dream, starting with an incredibly detailed day by day itinerary of where when and how. The first draft finds us starting in Wolfsburg Germany, the Volkswagen city, picking up our brand new left hand drive VW Campervan then heading off on our fantasy journey. Scheduling in a hotel stay every Sunday night and regular flights home for grandchildren's birthdays it's going to take at least 12 months to do it all. |

It happened on our way to the pub for Sunday dinner, a moment of madness wrapped up in an epiphany, a lightning bolt of crazy clarity, a promise to each other to do something we've been meaning to do since the day we met, runaway on a big adventure. By the time the coffee and mints were served we had mapped the ultimate European road trip on the back of a paper napkin. The dream was born. |
